My friend will be there this weekend. What are some gems he could potentially pick up for me? Thx in advance!

Ron del Barrilito 2 star and 3 star are certainly worth carrying back. DonQ Gran Anejo and the Bacardi Reserva Limitada are fine and in limited supply. Trigo's Reserva Aneja in a distinctive hand blown bottle is a nice find too.

Thanks Rum Runner...I emailed him with your suggestions immediately.
Hope I got to him in time, lol.

Cheers!

I can only guess that Rum Runner is expecting Canita to become hard to find and wasn't going to mention that one.

Well...Now that the cat is out of the bag....I highly recommend Ron Canita Alambique "Extra Fuerte" white by Trigo. It stands apart from other white rums produced here both in flavor and strength (86 proof).

Hard to find? Is there something you gentlemen would like to tell us?

Hard to find?

Only in that it is not widely distributed. There is no imminent demise to my knowledge.

Sorry if I alarmed you. oops.gif

I like it with coconut water or tonic water or with a splash of passion fruit juice.

Great news my brother.

I always have a bottle on hand here. It's very dry and understated compared to most premium rums out there today. Take some time to get to know it. It's damn good.

You're in for a treat you lucky SOB! The Gran anejo was the one to suck me into this craze! Great smokey toffee taste. I've heard that if you're into cigars it pairs great. He couldn't have brought back a better rum for you. Its a pain to get in the states I might add.

The Lad who picked it up for me is dropping it off tonight and I'm treating him to a nice BBQ'd steak dinner.
I may crack it tonight and smoke a cigar. I don't smoke them often but have a nice Honduran Zino Mouton Cadet # 8, and a bunch of Cohibas - I'm sure either will pair nicely.
Now if only the bloody rain would stop, lol.
