I have had a fantastic time tasting so many GREAT rums here in the Ministry of Rum 2007 Competition (http://ministryofrum.com/2007.php). So many difficult calls!
Results are now posted:

Sounds like I really missed it! As with Scottes, I will not miss next year!!
Just out of curiosity, is there a list of all the entries available?

There were some amazing new entries in all of the categories. I will be posting more about the results and the competition after I catch my breath. It's been a busy week in New Orleans and the rum competition was only the beginning of the work and fun for me and a lot of other people.
I have no doubt that next year will be even more work and fun. Tales of the Cocktail (http://www.talesofthecocktail.com) has become the premier event for the cocktail industry and although there is corporate support, which is necessary for any event of this scope, most of the seminar presenters are simply passionate supporters of their favorite spirits.

 Scared me there for a moment! My first thought was that I might have lost one of the Gold Medals. :D

Dan and Ed,
I have a great time and hope to be able to do it again next year if I'm not in Europe during that time. Do you know if it's going to be in July again Ed?
I was very glad to get to do the 20 premiums on Thursday morning as that was my primary reason for going. I had a few surprises (both good and bad) and a few great new rums to try. We plan on reviewing some of them starting with VIZCAYA VXOP CASK NO. 21 RUM in the next week or two.
New Orleans was great and it was good to see many things back to a more normal state. I'm glad to have been a part and want to thank Ed again for inviting both Dave and I.
Regards,

Ed Hamilton did an amazing job of organizing and running the rum competition to keep it free and clear of biased judgements or corporate pressures and deserves some big kudos. While not everyone was happy with the results, myself included regarding the flavored category, that was more a question of organization and tasting sequences. Overall there can be little argument regarding the integrity of the competition or the quality of the panel of judges that were chosen.
Thank You Edward... and congratulations on a job well done.
