Saint Lucia celebrates 30 years

Today Saint Lucia celebrates thirty years as an independent country. I'm sorry to be missing the celebrations but I know my friends there will have a glass of Bounty for me in my absence.

Bounty and Chairman's Reserve were a great intro to the rums of St Lucia. I still have 1 bottle of Admiral Rodney's left.

I would have stocked up on the local brews but was afraid I'd get arrested at the border. An extra bottle of Bounty was easier to explain than a bottle of white overproof rum buried on the full moon for 1 month with secret spices added....

Last night was a rainy one in Gros Islet, St. Lucia, but that didnt stop the Lucians to drink and dance the night away in the rum shops. The bottles were plentiful at the cricket grounds, and there was only happy faces to be seen. I had a punch for each and every one of you!
