The Romance of Rum - Boulder, CO

February 12th, I'll be joining the Boulder - Cuba Sister City Organization (http://www.bouldercuba.org/) at their Romance of Rum Tasting party and fund raiser.

Since 2006 the Boulder - Cuba Sister City Organization has been working with Project Cure (http://www.projectcure.org) to sponsor shipments of medical equipment and supplies to Cuba.

Besides plenty of rum cocktails, there will be appetizers from local restaurants and a silent auction of special rum offering and plenty of other surprises. Come learn about my favorite spirit and taste for yourself why rum is the most diverse spirit on the bar today.

If you're in the Boulder, CO area I hope to see you there.

Mikun, please introduce yourself at the Romance of Rum. I won't be doing anything else on this trip to Colorado, I'm flying in from San Francisco and leaving the next morning to go back to the bay area.

Right now, there are about fifteen rums confirmed to be there including Flor de Cana, El Dorado, Neisson, La Favorite, Prichards Fine Rum, Vizcaya, Tommy Bahama and more. I also expect the list to grow as the event date approaches. The Boulder - Cuba Sister City Organization (http://www.bouldercuba.org/) has been working hard to make this a memorable event and there will be a silent auction with some nice gift baskets and, of course, bottles of rum.

Rembrandt Yard, 1301 Spruce St in Boulder is a very nice gallery - event space and I'm told the Romance of Rum will be held on the third floor.

There will be tickets at the door, but I would highly encourage everyone to buy a ticket in advance, and bring a friend.

As expected the list of rums is growing and now includes rums from Flor de Cana, El Dorado, Neisson, La Favorite, Prichards Fine Rum, Vizcaya, Tommy Bahama, Mount Gay, Boca Loca, Leblon, Barbancourt and Goslings family of rums.

In addition to rums to taste there will be a silent auction where a number of very nice gift baskets, some of which will include my favorite spirit and a signed, first edition copy of Rums of the Eastern Caribbean.
