I love Troi Rivieres rum but have read that the distillery stopped operation a while back and that the equipment moved to LaMauny that took over the name.
I therefore have a couple of questions regarding this.
Would appreciate any help I can get to my questions.
1. Which year did Troi Rivieres distillery cease operation?
2. Why did they stop distilling themselves?
3. Which bottlings on the market are from the original distillery and which are from LaMauny?
4. Does LaMauny use exactly the same equipment as the original distillery used and did any personnel from the original distillery follow the equipment to LaMauny?
I know a lot of difficult questions but hopefully somebody of you that have been in Martinique recently might know.
Personally I love the vintage bottlings from 1977 and 1980.
These are wonderful, but later bottlings are not as good although I believe that all vintage bottlings are matured from five to six years only before bottling.
The ten year old isn't as good as the vintage bottlings even that its matures longer, a bit strange. Its not as its woody It’s just not as deep and complex as the earlier vintage bottlings. I find this a little strange.
