I'm looking to replace my beloved bottle of Zaya soon and heard that this would be a good substitute. Unfortunately I haven't seen this in Minnesota and was wondering if anyone knew the distributors web page where I could maybe find a bordering state to pick it up in. Also anyone know the pricing range of this bottle?

I stopped into a half dozen liquor stores this afternoon and discovered an alarming situation with Botran Gold. One store manager had been offered 1.75 litre bottles of Botran Gold for $4 each. He bought a dozen. This might be an aberration, or it might be a clearance, but I hope it's not a case of dumping product as distribution changes. In any case, I couldn't help buying a gallon for less than $30.

I found that Dana Wine & Spirits (http://www.danaimporters.com/danamain.html) right in Robert's back yard is the importer of Botran. A visit to the website shows the nearest State carrying products from them is Illinois.

Seabass - I'll be back up in Minneapolis St Paul the week of August 6th.

Ron Botran 12 year goes for about $21.99/750mL bottle here. If you'd like, I can bring some up to you.

$4 Bucks, i would have bought 20 or 30!!
i thought Botran Gold <5Year Old> was cheap where i work (1.75 $14+) and i've been using it for most of my mixing.
Florida does truly seem to be the rum Mecca....

Robert, out here 1.75L handles of the Botran Anejo Gold have surfaced at $14.99. The same size/lable Blanco is also on sale. You may be correct about a closeout. I'm buying a few for safe keeping!

Primate...That's a very nice offer. Where do you stay in the minneapolis area?

I usually stay in one of two places... or both during the week. In Plymouth, and then sometimes also in St Paul, not too terribly far from the Metrodome.

This trip up, will probably be in both locations during the week.

primate,

I appreciate the offer but I will be gone part of that week and it might not work. Hopefully I can pick it up on a trip to chicago soon.

Try Foremost Liquors (it's a chain). I found the entire Ron Botran line of rums available at Foremost, and haven't seen the entire line in one place elsewhere. There is a Foremost not too far from O'Hare Airport, it's in Schiller Park, or somewhere close to there. I remember it not being far off Irving Park Rd.
