I hate introductions. What to say? What not to say? The short version is I have come to find I enjoy rum, and the Ministry of Rum kept popping up on other sites where I was gathering info on various rums, so here I am.
Just finished a bottle of Maui Dark, and I can say I did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would, not a sipper for sure. It did go surprisingly well in my americano the other day though.

Welcome to the forums. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy Maui Dark as much as you thought you would as a sipping rum. I didn't know Maui Dark wasn't being promoted as a sipping rum since it isn't aged as long as are most sipping rums.
I think it is a good addition to cocktails or as you suggest in your americano. The journey of exploring the world of rum begins with your first sip of a new rum.

Hey Mike, welcome. I recently joined this forum after a great encounter with my first fine rum. The folks here are very knowledgeable and helpful to those that are just learning. Enjoy the ride.
Oh, which island are you on?

Thanks for such a warm welcome, Glad to be here.
As for the Maui Dark, it was my own fault for not digging up some info on it before trying it, was one of those impulse buys while at the local drug store. Will prepare myself more next time.

You can buy rum at a drug store?
I'm so jealous.
Greetings from Pennsylvania.
